Evergreen and Perennial, Plant Recipe for Tulsa

Blue Spruce and Bridal Wreath Spiraea

White Bridal Wreath is a glorious shower of white flowers against the mighty Blue Spruce.

We also have the White Dogwood trying to open up. The Dogwood and this Blue Spruce work out the area nicely together, with the Dogwood adapting to the stronger  ways of the mighty Blue Spruce.  This species of Spiraea, prunifolia, is very easy to grow and control. Takes our heat and cold and thrives with very little water or attention. Kids and adults love this flower for the fun it represents. You can make wreaths and dye the flowers with food coloring. Trim once a year after the blooms fade and allow the stems to grow for the next years blooms.
